The official theme for Mental Health Awareness Week, taking place from 15th to 21st May, is anxiety.
Mental health is something we all have and according to the charity Mind, around one in four people will experience a mental health problem each year. As a society we are far more accepting of a physical illness, such as a broken bone or the flu, that we are of mental health illness.
Anxiety is one of the most common mental health problems we can face. A recent study by the Mental Health Foundation found that a quarter of adults said they felt so anxious that it stopped them from doing the things they want to do some or all of the time. Six in ten adults feel this way, at least some of the time.
