Following communications earlier this week, we are pleased to advise that we will be commencing a phased reopening of Les Quennevais Sports Centre a little earlier than expected and are especially pleased to confirm that this will include the Pools from Sunday this weekend. We expect the phased reopening to be as follows:
Phase 1: Sunday 28th April at 8am:
- Both the main and small Pool
- Sports Hall
- La Piscine Café
Phase 2: Monday 29th April
- Ground floor Dance Studio
- Spin Studio on the first floor
- New CV area of the Gym (old free weights area).
Phase 3: Expected by 3rd May (TBC)
- Fixed Weights area
- New Free Weights Area (old CV area)
Phase 4: Date TBC
Sauna and steam rooms
We are sorry to advise that we are unable to reinstate the sauna and steam at this time. The investigative works carried out on the electrics over this past two weeks have identified that the electrical circuits and boards required to service the sauna and steam rooms, need to be replaced and relocated in their entirety. We will advise customers when we know when this work can be carried out, but do not expect these to be back in service for several months.
We must also take this opportunity to advise customers that we have planned to close the pools at Les Quennevais Sports Centre for six weeks, over the school summer holiday period, to carry out essential maintenance on the steel roof columns in this area. This maintenance is not related in any way to the cause of the current closure.
Any, non-urgent electrical works identified in this current phase will therefore be delayed to coincide with the planned maintenance of the steel works so customers are not inconvenienced any more than is necessary.
During this period of planned closure we will provide Active members alternative pool facilities at the Aquasplash for one week, followed by Langford Pool for the remaining period.
We look forward to welcoming you into the facility again, the team have missed you all. Please note however, that we may still have contractors on site working in certain areas, at certain times, as the work is ongoing. We aim to minimise the impact this has on our customers as far as possible and are grateful of your patience and understanding
